Gary Mabbutt

If effort and motivation could win trophies, Mabbutt would have won all. Mabbutt spent an incredible sixteen seasons at White Hart Lane, and was a regular fixture in the first team through out. Mabbutt was installed as the skipper of Tottenham in 1988; he soon became an inspired choice. Despite scoring an own goal in the 1987 FA Cup final, Mabbutt was certainly a huge help in the FA Cup winning team of 1991, he captained Tottenham to FA Cup triumph over Nottingham Forest.

Danny Thomas
Danny Thomas was a nippy, clean tackling full back with brilliant distributional skills, Thomas played for Spurs for a number of years in the early 80’s and was a permanent fixture in the starting line up. Thomas was a regular member of the England squad in the mid 1980’s; however a knee injury forced Thomas into premature retirement. Thomas’s finest hour in a Spurs shirt was his heroic performance in the final of the UEFA Cup in 1984.
